Take the Right Road (#65)

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference
                        “The Road Not Taken”

An intriguing poem by Robert Frost.  Like the speaker, we too are confronted by cross roads.  Which road should we take?  After weighing the options we, like the speaker, eventually come to a decision.
As I viewed the photo above of Trevor’s Way, Bridgetown, Barbados – which incidentally makes for lovely viewing and relaxation during the day – I was also reminded of the passage, Matthew 7:13, 14.
“Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it.  But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.

You know this is so true.  Often what is popular is not necessarily what is right or beneficial.
Parents especially have a difficult time convincing teens of this truth.  How often have you said to your child, “Just because everyone is doing it, doesn’t make it right.”
This frank statement by Jesus is really an invitation to choose the narrow road – the road of salvation because it really is the best one.  It indeed “leads to eternal life” and eternal life begins now and stretches into the future beyond death.
Won’t you join me and others on this road?  You can start your journey now by asking and receiving forgiveness of your sins from Jesus Himself – the one who died to open up this way for mankind.
So get on this road.  It will make all the difference!
