Not An Option (#64)

“Giving up is not an option”
                        Hozia Hinds

How true are the words of Hozia Hinds, Barbadian Gospel singer!  And how applicable they are to all involved in ministry or any worthwhile enterprise.
I think when we’ve started on that premise – not giving up – we are on the road to success.  Of course, hard work and commitment to the task at hand is needed.
Unexpected circumstances often have a way of shaping (and unshaping) our lives.  But if something is important and will benefit others, then the idea of giving up is not worth contemplating.
And so, the ministry/task must continue regardless of obstacles.  These adverse situations are part and parcel of the mosaic of our lives. They help us to grow and develop.
Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:1 puts it entirely into perspective:  God in his mercy has given us this work to do, and so we do not become discouraged.”
Because God is the giver and not man, we should never abandon our task.  God has favoured us by choosing us to do His will.  We should be honoured to be on His task force.  We get to share in His creative abilities, as we reach the world for Him.
Yes, God is our Commander-in-chief.  His name and nature are synonymous with success, not failure.
Therefore, we His children are also successful.  Giving up?  Definitely not an option!
